About Badger Mountain Solar

Aurora Solar, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Avangrid Renewables, LLC, proposes to construct and operate the Badger Mountain Solar project. EFSEC received an application for site certification (ASC) for Badger Mountain Solar on October 7, 2021. EFSEC held an informational public meeting and land use hearing on November 17, 2021. On March 13, 2022, the Council adopted Order 881 that determined the application to be inconsistent with local land use plans and zoning ordinances. Avangrid Renewables requested an extension of the processing time for their ASC on September 6, 2023. On June 27, 2024, Avangrid Renewables sent EFSEC a letter stating their intention to pause permitting activities until further notice.
