About this rule
We became an independent agency on June 30, 2022, when E2SHB 1812 went into effect. The bill modernizes our agency to meet the state’s clean energy goals.
The 2022 law changed the Energy Facilities—Site Locations Act (Chapter 80.50 RCW), requiring us to update parts of Title 463 WAC to align our agency rules with the new state law.
We are also updating Title 463 based on changes to:
- The Environmental Health Law Reorganization Act (SHB 2246)
- The Public Records Act (Chapter 42.56 RCW)
- Current technological practices
- The Office of the Code Reviser’s style guide
