About this rule
We're updating our agency's air quality rules to:
- Be consistent with Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules
- Ensure that permits we issue align with current Department of Ecology and EPA rules
We're also planning updates to our State Implementation Plan (SIP) for air quality, which require us to update our rules first. Because we're adopting rules that have already passed the Department of Ecology’s rulemaking process, we can use the expedited rulemaking process for these changes.
