Summary
On January 28, 1971, the Washington Public Power Supply System (WPPSS) filed an application with the state for construction and operation of the WNP-2 project, a nuclear electric generating station located on the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford Site. After hearings held in 1971, Governor Daniel J. Evans signed the original site certification agreement on May 17, 1972.
