Desert Claim - environmental impact

We published the initial Determination of Significance and scoping notice on March 19, 2007.

On April 2, 2009, we issued a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) based on a January 2009 revised application for site certification (ASC) and a 2004 Final EIS prepared by Kittitas County. With the publication of the Draft SEIS, the Council opened a 30-day comment period that ending on May 4, 2009, which included an in-person public meeting on April 23, 2009, at the Hal Holmes Center in Ellensburg.

After considering public comments and the results of July 2009 adjudicative proceedings, we issued the Final SEIS on November 6, 2009.
