Summary
Carriger Solar, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cypress Creek Renewables, submitted an application for site certification on February 10, 2023, for a solar energy and battery storage facility in Klickitat County.
The applicant has requested several project extensions to allow for completion of a Tribal Cultural Property (TCP) study necessary for the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) review and a threshold determination.
Description
On February 10, 2023, Carriger Solar, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cypress Creek Renewables, LLC, submitted an application for site certification to construct and operate an electric generating facility with a capacity of 160 MW solar energy and 63 MW of battery energy storage.
We convened an informational public hearing on April 25, 2023, at the Goldendale Grange Hall with the option to join the meeting virtually.
The application included a request for expedited consideration and requests for extension of that expedited consideration in June 2023.
In February 2023, Cypress Creek Renewables requested an additional extension to allow the Yakama Nation to perform a Traditional Cultural Property (TCP) study to assess potential impacts to cultural resources and inform our SEPA determination. Cypress Creek made another request in March 2025 to allow for completion of the SEPA review process and issuance of the threshold determination based on the findings of the TCP study.
