Final Site Certification Agreement (SCA)
Summary
In May 1974, the Washington Public Power Supply System (later renamed Energy Northwest) filed an application for WNP 1 and 4 projects. After hearings in 1974, Governor Daniel J. Evans signed the site certification agreement (SCA) on August 8, 1975. Two amendments were subsequently made to the SCA to change the name of the certificate holder and to reflect the shift from construction of two nuclear facilities to reuse and restoration.
Description
In May 1974, the Washington Public Power Supply System (later renamed Energy Northwest) filed an application for WNP 1 and 4 projects. After hearings in 1974, Governor Daniel J. Evans signed the site certification agreement (SCA) on August 8, 1975.
An amendment in September 2000 to the WNP-1/4 SCA recognized the change of the certificate holder from the Washington Public Power Supply System (WPPSS) to Energy Northwest (EN) with Resolution 293, Amendment No. 1.
In April 2010, Resolution 330 approved SCA Amendment No. 2 to remove the terms and conditions related to construction and operation and more accurately reflect plans to pursue facility reuse opportunities in the future final phase of site restoration.
