Steps in Land use and adjudication

Hearing about a local area’s requirements for energy facilities
We hold a land use consistency hearing to determine whether a proposed facility complies with local land use plans and zoning ordinances.
Conferences to help prepare for adjudicative hearings
Before adjudicative hearings are held, an administrative law judge may hold one or more conferences to decide: (1) on requests from people or groups who want to intervene as parties to the adjudicative proceeding, (2) which topics are allowed to be presented and the order in which they will be considered, and (3) the schedule.
Hearing of evidence and testimony for and against a proposed facility and potential conditions to impose for construction and operation
At adjudicative hearings, parties present evidence and testimony for and against a proposed facility and potential conditions to be imposed for its construction and operation. The information gathered through these hearings becomes part of the official record used to decide whether to recommend approval of an application to the Governor.
